East Avenue Medical Center (EAMC)
The East Avenue Medical Center was organized by virtue of EO# 14 s. 1986 of the then President Corazon C. Aquino and was originally a 500-bed capacity institution. For the last 22 years, the EAMC has been living up to its standard as a premier education and training as well as a service hospital under the Department of Health (DOH). It has been upgraded to a 1000 beds under Republic Act 8345 and strives to provide quality patient care to the optimum number of the populace irrespective of social, educational, economic and religious creed.
EMAC is the Mother Hospital of the Philippines Heart Center, Lung Center of the Philippines, National Kidney & Transplant Institute of the Philippines and Philippine Children's Medical Center. These hospitals are the highest level of tertiary (specialization) hospitals in the Philippines and are located in the same vicinity as EAMC. EMAC residents are required to rotate in these institutes.
